Daniel in Exile – a Model for Church Leadership Today
Speaker: Revd John Dunnett, General Director CPAS and Chair of the Evangelical Group on General Synod (EGGS).
At this year’s conference we will consider how the experience of Daniel informs and shapes leadership and mission in the local church today.
Despite ‘establishment’, there are many signs that the church is moving into exile in contemporary society. Where churches face ‘exilic’ challenges, how do we respond, sustain healthy church life, maintain ministerial vigour and re-imagine mission? What are the priorities – in evangelism, apologetics, and leadership development? How do we equip one another – and the congregations we belong to – for faithful, loving, dynamic service ‘in exile’?
Our speaker is John Dunnett – General Director of CPAS since 2006, Chair of the Evangelical Group on General Synod, and formerly vicar of Cranham Park, Upminster (once part of St Albans Diocese!!). John is superbly placed to address these questions and looking forward to helping us with them. In two sessions he will first open up the Scriptures with us, and then spell out how they apply to the practicalities of mission and ministry.
Do plan to be with us, and bring fellow leaders from your church, churchwardens, PCC members, and anyone who has a heart for gospel ministry and mission.
